Grief Tending Ceremony

Grief is a sacred portal.

Grieving brings you back into your body.

It connects you to the living world and your innate belonging in it.

Whether you are grieving a new wound or an old one.

The loss of a loved one, the abuse you experienced as a child, pain and illness, isolation, loss of a dream, environmental devastation, national and global crises, rape…

Whatever you are grieving, your grief is welcome and loved in my space.

Having spaces where we can be held, witnessed, and loved in our grief is imperative to our well-being and our communities health.

Where sorrow, fear, anger, and hope can be welcomed and expressed.

A well-held and brave space where we can release and alchemize grief.

Unexpressed grief can gnaw away at our insides and shorten our lives. Unexpressed grief can lead to depression, low self-worth, anxiety, emotional distress, spiritual crisis, violence, uncontrollable anger, illness, difficulty sleeping, poor digestion, and relationship issues.

The deeper you feel into your grief, the more access you will have to ease, lightness, empowerment, joy, pleasure, and delight in your life.

Grief is an entity and spirit that wants to move through you to clear space for something new.

Grief is an initiation.

Grief. My loyal, persistent, wild, honest, vulnerable, and erotic friend.

I’ve learned to let Grief embrace me. Like a vast ocean, free and flowing, she holds me afloat as I trust. Sometimes she is calm and still and others severe, forceful, and erratic.

So many fear the tidal waves of Grief. Worried her current will sweep them away and they will never return. And there is some truth. You won’t return to where you were when you were resisting, avoiding and dodging.

By surrendering to the flow of Grief’s current she shifts, softens, and makes space for something new.

The storm doesn’t last forever.

Grief is love.
